Connect your own infrastructure and storage

Two ways. One needs nothing installed.

Cloud workspace

Recommended. Nothing to install.

A small, always-on node in your cloud account hosts your Object Service and compute service over your storage bucket. GPU nodes come and go on demand from there.

  • Ready in a few minutes; stays up until you delete it here.
  • You pay the provider for the node; 3LC installs and runs everything.

Your own infrastructure

Self-hosted

Run the Object Service and compute service on machines you control: a laptop, an on-prem GPU server or DGX, or a cloud VM you manage. Point this browser at them. GPU nodes from a provider stay optional.

Both services are running on this machine right now (localhost:5015 and :5020).

2

Your cloud account

Pick a provider first.

The workspace is created in your own account and billed to it. Your keys are sent over TLS to the 3LC-hosted service that creates the workspace, used for that request, and stored only on the workspace itself.

Storage

Pick a provider first.
Type a project root URL

Projects, tables and runs live in the bucket; the workspace and its GPU nodes land in the bucket's region. Uploads land under data/… on the same bucket.

Your cloud workspaces

Each one runs your own Object Service and compute service in your cloud account.
